Lurve is in the Air

The always amusing and amazing Lisabea awarded me that thar I Love Your Blog Award "Cuz I like her. Bunches. That girl has grit." Aw shucks, LB, thank 'ee.

UPDATE: The Lurve has found it's way back to me! Thanks also for the awards from the SpongeBob duo of JenB and MB(Leah).

YO, thar be BIG WET FISH-LIP SNOGS waitin' fer all o' ye!

Heh, only someone following links and reading comments on their blogs will have any idea what the SpongeBob comment is all about.

The rules for this award are that you need to:

1) Add the logo of the award to your blog

2) Add a link to the person who awarded it to you

3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs

4) Add links to those blogs on your blog

5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs!

So, my awards, in no significant order, go to:

1. Madame Butterfly, aka MB(Leah): because she's personally so damn interesting and she writes the most interesting book reviews. Even when I know a book isn't my "flavor" I often read MB's reviews anyway just because I know she'll still manage to make the book sound interesting.

2. The Reading Spot, aka Kris: What's NOT to like? She's plain and simply one of those really likeable, down to Earth people!

3. Ginger Kid's Den of Iniquity, aka JenB: So young and yet so pervy. It's hard to believe she's fairly new to blogging; her personality shines through everything she writes and I always look forward to reading/ looking at whatever she posts.

4. Lurv à la Mode, aka Kmont (Kendra): Not only does her blog name coordinate with my blog theme (hee), but after reading her always insightful and intelligent posts, she doesn't seem to mind my dropping by and babbling all over her comment threads. Hell, she even humors me by responding!

5. Marta Acosta's VampireWire: Really, one of the most useful sites around. Sure Marta promotes her own books (deservedly so), but she also promotes everyone else's books, reader blogs, TV shows, movies, and let's not forget that with her Gratutitous Video of the Day she single-handedly (hee) proved the existence of The Jonesian Effect(TM).

6. Nose in a Book, aka LisaBea: Even if she hadn't given me the award, she would have been on my list because, hands down, I think she's got the most consistently witty mind in the blogosphere. Her mind just seems to work... different... than the rest of ours. Besides, who else could make us covet a Nose Picker Award.

7. and 7.5. Romance Rookie, aka JillD whom I've recently "discovered" and am just getting to know, but I already like her voice. And ShartyRant for her brand spankin' new blog, A Book-a-holics Thoughts and Obsessions. I'm looking forward to reading more from both of them.

Now, those are by far not my only favorites. I enjoy EVERYONE on my Today's Chocolate Fondue Specials sidebar list (and therefore followed in Google Reader) and think they are definitely worth reading on a regular basis. But some of them, like Dear Author, Smart Bitches, Lust Bites, and DIK (Desert Island Keepers) have really become more than blogs and are communities unto themselves.

Oh, and really, the number one don't-miss blog for me is Laurell K. Hamilton's blog. (Oh HUSH, Wytherin) But... um... I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be passing this meme on.

pssst... If anyone read this post when it was first posted and notices any changes... well... never mind... I confoozled myself and never seem to catch these things until AFTER they're published. Carry on.

BTW...I love how you call Kenda "insightful and intelligent" and I get "young and pervy". Thanks. A lot. Really. :P

OH that's nice Bev- Thank you! You're a sweetheart. I know you don't like girls, but I give you a big kiss. :D

Oh, and I totally agree about JenB's blog. Now I have to figure this out.

Oh, you are too funny! Of course I'll respond, you're always so nice and I love talking with you. Errr, I'm still a bit embarrassed by my Faefever rant over here tho! Puh-leeze scratch that one lol.

Thank you SO much for the blog lurv. I like that our themes are similar too!

Dare to be different!

I need to give out some nosepickers. I haven't done that in a while. Thanks for the reminder (and the nice nice).

mwah.

Hey, what to do if you don't have 7 blogs? LOL

There's you and JenB who I will tag, but a few author blogs that I wouldn't tag.

I'm obviously missing out on so many good blogs! My mind could explode from all there is to keep track of and read.

Will I be smited (smote?) if I don't pass on the award to 7 people? :D

Bev(QB) said...

Hee, now see? Your responses are exactly why I was right in handing out those awards.

Oh, and KMONT? Did I screw up? Jen called you Kenda and I called you Kendra-- is it upside-the-head-with-a-mackeral time again? And, I LIKED your response to Faefever, it shows KMM is doing something right when it can make people that passionate about it.

BTW, Jen, notice that MB AGREED with me about you. Just sayin'. ;-p

MB, don't sweat it. Pass the meme on (or not) whenever you have time. And I swear that when I first saw this meme, it was for only FOUR blogs. So you could just make a note that you're passing it on to your top 4 (or whatever) instead, or your top 4 reader blogs plus top 4 author blogs, or whatever.

No one is going to send the Romancelandian equivalent of the goon squad after you.

Hee, LB is off to reward nose pickers.

heheh... hey I love her blog too... But its mostly for the train wreck factor... sigh.. One must take ones entertainment where she finds it...

Did you catch True blood? I sobbed.. and there was FINALLY a sex scene I liked watching(sookie and bill)...

Hey Bev! Thanks so much for the shout out. Us KMM girls have got to stick together!

Wytherin, I cried too when Sookie was eating the pie... it was so touching.

Bev(QB) said...

Wytherin, believe me, there's many a day I just shake my head at either WHAT she's written or HOW she's written it. But I still enjoy when she blogs about her writing process, I find it interesting.

Damn right, Jill!

And OMG you guys, all I kept thinking was that it would be the last pie of Gran's that Sookie would ever eat!

Kmont's got a good discussion going on over there about the episode. It really was the best yet, wasn't it? Since the books are only from Sookie's POV, the characters revolve around her. But with this last episode, I felt like all the other characters have been fully fleshed-out to 3-dimensions and are now autonomous from her.

well the jason character is certainly even more loathesome than in the books... I know its not exactly as the books go, but I am enjoying the heck out of Taras character.... but I am sooo dissapointed in how they have done Sam... he was never that needy in the books... wytherin

Bev(QB) said...

In all fairness, though, we only got to know Sam through Sookie in the books. So we, like Sookie, could have been oblivious to how he felt, instead seeing him as caring like a good friend would. ::shrugs:: But, yeah, I agree, I don't like all his mooning over Sookie and I'm wondering where the show is going to take him with Tara.

I guess the same applies to Jason. Soookie knew he was a dawg, but of course, as his sister, she wasn't witness to just how much of a dawg he really is.

Oh no, which of us misspelled KMont's name??? lol

I just said on my blog to nominate "a handful" of other blogs. So I didn't have to do 4 or 5 or 7. Cheating is fun. :)

Bev(QB) said...

I dunno. But I think YOU spelled it right. Next time I'm over there, I'm gonna watch for it.

You didn't cheat, you merely adapted the rules to work with your needs. Right?

Kris said...

You are so sweet, thank you bev :)

Bev(QB) said...

Kris... shshshsh... don't let that get around, it'll ruin my drama queen rep. ;-p

I didn't even mention passing it on. Now I'll definitely be smited. LOL

Don't worry Bev, we won't be fooled. ;-P

Hey bev, I went back and read the first Sookie book.... Wow, its different when I read it through the prism of Alan Balls series...

See, I always focused more on the quirky characters and finding the humor in it, but it can be incredibly dark (more in the direction Alan Ball took it)... I find it interesting that my impressions of the books (which I have read MANY times) are just as different from the real thing as Alans are... wytherin(in a psychoanalysing mood today)...

Whaaaa! Dammit, I can't watch this show. And because of you, Bev, yes you!, I'm now so hooked on the audio. Blockbuster has the first show and I thought it a bit lame and the dialogue slow, but now, since the audio, and I'm not even 1/2 through, I want to see it so bad. And everyone keeps talking about it. Whaaaa... :-( LOL

Marta said...

Hey, Bev, thanks for the shout out! You know I always like to drop by your blog for the pictures. I mean, for the intellectual stimulation.

Bev(QB) said...

Oh, man, Marta, is that a hint? I HAVE dropped the ball(s) ;-p on posting those sweet beefcake nut clusters haven't I?

I find it interesting that my impressions of the books (which I have read MANY times) are just as different from the real thing as Alans are
And I just remember it as rather blah and way too slow paced for me. But like I've said before, I just wasn't hearing Harris' (and Sookie's) voice in my head (my fault, not Harris') and truly could not understand why they were so popular until I heard the audio books.

The thing is that the reason I couldn't hear Harris' voice when reading it is because the story has such a Southern pace to it, and with my Midwest speech cadence, I wasn't appreciating how the words could truly just flow and carry me away.

I'm now so hooked on the audio.
Isn't Johanna Parker freakin' AMAZING? I just get lost in her voice.

Good thing that Anna Paquin's Sookie has a pitch so similar to Parker's voice or I don't know that I would enjoy the TV show anywhere near as much as I do.
