More QB's SUPER Quickies

QB's Super Quickie iconSince things like work, sleep, family, and reading seem to use up the time I need to write insightful, intelligent, witty, and LENGTHY commentaries (HEY! Did you just roll your eyes?!), Super Quickie posts give me a way to simply group books into my commentary categories and, more importantly, keep track of what I've read.

Damn Bev, how many books do you read in a week? I'm lucky if I get through 2. But that's mainly because I waste so much time on blogs and catching up on sleep that I don't do so well at night on.

I have Possession. Totally forgot about it. And it has both Madelynne and Mathilde's stories in it. How did I forget that?

All of these books look really good.

But Dark Rider and Night Child feel right up my alley. Thanks!

Darn, but now I don't get to find out what you thought of my novella *sob* Grrr, to these super quickies, I like reading your reviews too much. Although, at least this way I'm less likely to add to my TBR mountain.

LOL, no MB, these aren't all recent reads!

I'm just trying to clear up the enormous backlog of books I've read but not reviewed. Most of these I read in my orgy of TBR diving over the summer.

I finally quit trying to convince myself that I could review every single book I read. Even the Quickies take awhile because I hunt down links to other reviews and previous books in a series. So the Super Quickies are now going to be a permanent part of my bog. It's the only way I could think of to keep track of what I read without laying all the pressure on myself to review them all.

And I was hoping that they would still point someone to more info about the books. I'm glad you were able to find something to read. Such a shame to have no TBR. ;-D

OH Good Grief, Madelynne! I've spoiled you rotten, haven't I? (I hope that phrase translates into British). I all but went door to door hand delivering AGW and Phantasmagoria but you STILL don't understand what a freakin' brilliant writer you are?! GEESH!

Besides, MB says she has Possession so you just KNOW she will write a review filled with her amazing insights. So, I'm totally off the hook!

Spoilt rotten is a Britishism too.

And what can I say... I'm a typical writer ie an insecure, egotistical lunatic. LOL.

Guess I'll just have to spend my writing break watching your Swallowing Darkness thing counting down the minutes until Amazon fails to deliver my copy. Why did I even think ordering it from them was a good idea?

I hear ya. I don't review every book I read, but most. It does take a lot of time. Takes me a couple of hours to do a review and then I sit on it for day and revise trying to get clear. It's a hard job. LOL

Oh, no you didn't. LOL

Madelynne, that Swallowing Darkness Countdown is actually for a contest with the publisher. Frankly, the damn thing loads so slow that I can't wait to delete it.

BTW, I never, ever order any book that I KNOW I must have on release day. Swallowing Darkness (I HATE that title) is one of those.

"Oh, no you didn't. LOL"

What?

thanks for saying you hate that title.. There is no way that I will hold that book in my hands and have someone ask if I am reading a Porn fantasy..(ok, so it probably wouldn't be far wrong, but I still read the Merrys)... I hope that my old friend whom sends me the e copy will come through again or I am going to have to wrap this sucker in a brown paper bag cover (the library is going to love that)... yes, the wytherin hasn't totally given up on LKH, just her anita books...

Yeah, A Lick of Frost was a cute play on words, but Swallowing Darkness is just too in-your-face raunch. So is the next Anita- Skin Trade.

Actually, I'm kind of surprised you didn't give up after Mistral's Kiss. Yes, even I admit that it was weak. But if you had, you would have missed out on the events of ALoF and, despite its name, I have high hopes for Swallowing Darkness too.

If I was buying the books I would have given up after MIstral.. but since I just read them now (because they are no longer books I would reread again and again) I am still hanging in there...

I am still interested, but some of the florid prose and circular discussions that LKH seems to love now, make me grit my teeth... rereading them only makes it worse for me, so I tend to skim to get the overarching story at this point...wytherin
